A Bit About Me

I feel in love with pilates about 7 years ago, I started going to a class once a week. It was a highlight of my week, I enjoyed the atmosphere and learning a new way of movement. When I was 16 I had my first gym membership and my mum aways demonstrated to me the importance of movement for your health. I have always loved cardio, felt pressured to lift weight but pilates gave me that balance in my workout routine.

When I moved, I struggled to find a class that really enjoyed. So, I problem solved.. and started my training to become a pilate instructor to be able to create a class for the community to fall in love with Pilates as much as I do! Which I hope I have, seeing the Pilates team grow in their own practise and strength, it what motivates me to keep instructing.

The History

Pilates was created over 100 years ago by physical trainer Joseph Pilates to focus on form, alignment and to enhance strength and flexibility. This full body method promotes a mind-body connection to achieve controlled movements for core strength, flexibility and muscle tone. Improved posture, bone health and coordination are also great perks. A fundamental element of Pilates is lateral breathwork, as a byproduct of this, tension, stress and anxiety decreases.
